Mary Ann Long Woodruff/1826-1897/b. AL

Am seeking information on the parents of Mary Ann Long, born 1826, in Alabama. In 1843, she married Balser/Barry M. Woodruff, in Alcorn County, Mississippi. They lived in Tishomingo County, Mississippi, until Balser/Barry Woodruff died.

Mary Ann Long Woodruff's son, John L. Woodruff, had emigrated from MS to Texas, and Mary Ann died in Ellis County, Texas, where he lived.

She is buried at the Bluff Springs Cemetery near Ferris, and some Woodruff researchers claim she was the sister of William Ambrose Long, who is also buried in the Bluff Springs Cemetery. William Ambrose Long was my great, great grandfather,(born Person County, NC, emigrated to Pontotoc County, MS, and then to Ferris, TX). He did not have a sister named Mary Ann, who was born in Alabama.

But who is this Mary Ann Long Woodruff, and who were her parents? Any leads or information would be greatly appreciated.

Dorothy O'Neill
