Iuka - Emer Gene White, 79, died August 09, 2009, at her residence. She was an accomplished seamstress that did alterations for many people in Iuka as well as surrounding states. She loved her family dearly and dedicated her life to taking care of them.
Services were at the Cutshall Funeral Home Chapel in Iuka with burial in the Patrick Cemetery. Cutshall Funeral Home of Iuka was in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors included three sons, Raymond White (Ann), Ernest White (Patricia) and Billy White; two daughters, Shirley Walker (Tim) and Nellie Lomenick (Roy), all of Iuka; six sisters, Mary McClung of Lawrenceburg, Tenn., and Christine Cooper, Lorene Rhodes, Ruby Brown, Betty Quillen and Ann Wiley, all of Iuka; 12 grandchildren; two special grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Alvie "Little Boy" White; her daughter and son-in-law, Polly and Ken Blocker; her parents, Saul Highland and Loney Highland Dixon; her step father, Rube Dixon; one sister, Pearl Barrett; and four brothers, James, Porter, Jourdan and William Highland.
