Tupelo – Bernell Ledbetter, 89, formerly of Belmont, died June 20, 2009, at the North Mississippi Medical Center. She was born May 5, 1920, in Belmont to Olen and Martha E. Shook Yarber. She was a member of West Jackson Street Baptist Church and a factory worker. An avid reader, she enjoyed quilting and growing flowers.
Services were at West Jackson Street Baptist Church with burial in Belmont City Cemetery. Senter Funeral Home of Fulton was in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors included three sons, Cecil Ledbetter Jr. (Mary) of Tinley Park, Ill., and Billy Ledbetter (Carol) and David Ledbetter (Dianne), all of Tupelo; 10 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Elna Shackelford of Florence, Ala., and Eunice Pace (J.W.) of Florence, Ala.; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Marjorie Yarber.
