Odell Bowling, 88, of Iuka, Mississippi, died Tuesday, October 28, 2008, at North Mississippi Medical Center - Tupelo. He was of the Baptist Faith and was an U. S. Army veteran of WWII. He managed Bowling’s Grocery and Feed Store until age 59, and then went to work for Consolidated Aluminum and retired at age 70. He was a farmer and raised all types of livestock, and especially enjoyed growing vegetables. Visitation is scheduled for 5 until 8 PM on Wednesday, October 29, 2008 at Cutshall Funeral Home - Iuka. Funeral services are scheduled for 11 AM on Thursday, October 30, 2008, at Cutshall Funeral Home Chapel in Iuka, officiated by Bro. Ed Kennedy and Bro. Gene Autry Gist. Pallbearers include Wayborn Bowling, Charles Bowling, Bo Kay, Bo Gist, Thomas Kay, and Joe Blythe. Interment will follow in Cypress Grove Cemetery. Cutshall Funeral Home of Iuka, MS is entrusted with arrangements. He is survived by 1 daughter – Linda Clark (Stanton) of Iuka, MS; 1 brother – O.J. Bowling of Iuka, MS; and 2 grandchildren – Tammy Clark Franklin (Bill) of Carrollton, TX and Bruce Clark (Sara) of Covington, TN. He was preceded in death by his wife of 68 years, Charline Bowling; his parents, Troy and Ethel Bowling; and one brother, Norman L. Bowling.
