Belmont - Imogene Elizabeth Holcomb, 97, died June 16, 2009, at Terrace Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Russellville, Ala. She was born Oct. 3, 1911, in Mississippi to Keifer and Mary Newell McFadden. She was a homemaker and a member of New Bethel Baptist Church in Belmont.
Services were at New Bethel Baptist Church with burial in New Bethel Cemetery. Deaton Funeral Home of Belmont was in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors included two children, Rochelle Dill (Donald) and Donald Holcomb (Linda), all of Red Bay, Ala.; 12 grandchildren, Bonnie Johnson, Martha Medina, Wayne Bridges (Teresa), Peggy Craig (Johnny), Diane Channell, Michael Sparks (Pam), Cindy Dobbs, Greg Robinson (Loretta), Angel Gasaway (Tony), Julie Doss (Lee), Anthony Cross (Carrie) and Maggie Cross; 19 great-grandchildren, 13 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Verner R. Holcomb; an infant daughter, Charlene Holcomb; two daughters, Geraldine Oaks and Betty Bridges; one son, Paul Holcomb; and a son-in-law, Kermit Oaks.
