Darlene Maxwell, 74, died June 4, 2009, at the Red Bay Hospital. She was born Aug. 5, 1934, in Prentiss County to Rufus and Mollie Smith Gann. She was a factory worker employed by Blue Bell from which she retired. She was a member of Palestine Community Church. She enjoyed gardening, and loved quilting, but loved spending time with her family the most.
Services were at Palestine Community Church at Paden with burial in Belmont Memory Garden. Deaton Funeral Home of Belmont was in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors are her husband, Bobby Maxwell of Dennis; three daughters, Brenda Hastings (Jeff) of Booneville, Patsy Wanner (Roger) and Sandra Leathers, all of Belmont; two sons, Ricky Wooten of McAllen, Texas, and Terry Wooten (Melissa) of Golden; four sisters, Freeda Smith of Belmont, Barbara Mock of Paden, Edith Russell (Terry) of Paden and Linda Patterson (Rex) of Red Bay, Ala.; one brother, Jimmy Dale Gann ( Bonnie) of Tishomingo; seven grandchildren, Jaclyn Day, Elise Wooten, Tara Wanner, Angie Patterson (Bobby), Zack Wanner, Colby Aldridge and Aaron Aldridge; three great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Butch Wooten; her parents; and one brother.
