Dennis – Quay Flurry Byram, 80, died May 18, 2009, at The Meadows in Fulton. She was born June 28, 1928, in Dennis to Richard Erskin and Ethel Irene Melton Flurry. She was a factory worker and an employee of Sparks Drive-Inn for many years. She was a member of Dennis United Methodist Church.
Services were May 20 at Deaton Funeral Home Chapel in Belmont with burial in Lindsey Cemetery in Dennis,
Survivors included one daughter, Sue Wigginton of Dennis (special friend, Johnny); one son, Mike Byram of Dennis (special friend, Tammy); three sisters, Mildred Culp and Hilda Johnson of Dennis, and Jean Garrett of Tuscumbia, Ala.; two brothers, Paul Flurry of Booneville and Joe Flurry of Savannah, Ga.; five grandchildren, Lee Pounds, Christi Pierce (Craig) and Kerry Pounds (Jennifer), all of Dennis, Misty Byram of Red Bay, Ala., and Christy Harrell (Randy), of Tuscaloosa, Ala.; eight great-grandchildren, Dustin Smith (Cilia) of Horton, Ala., Tyler Smith, Laken Pounds, Brodi Pounds and Dustin Farris, all of Dennis, and Nicole Harrell, Gracie Harrell and Hannah Harrell, all of Tuscaloosa; a host of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dexter C. Byram; her parents; one sister, Opal Tidwell; and two brothers, Freed Flurry and Reece Flurry.
