DUMAS – Margaret Roberta Craig Grisham, 96, died June 24, 2009, at the Tippah County Nursing Home. She was born in Tyronza, Ark., on May 3, 1913, to Robert C. and Alice Maude Cates Craig, and grew up in Covington and Memphis, Tenn. She married Leland Grisham and they moved to Tippah County in 1942, where she lived the rest of her life. She was a homemaker and faithful member of Dumas Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday School for over 50 years. She was a Godly and gentle woman, much loved by her many friends and adored by her family.
Services were at Dumas Baptist Church. McBride Funeral Home of Ripley was in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors included four sons and one daughter: Jackie Grisham (Paula) of Ripley, Chester Grisham (Sissy) of Lake Mohawk, Dennis Grisham (Lynda) of Dumas, Laura Medley (Russell) of Huntsville, Ala., and Kenneth Grisham of LaMesa, Calif.; 12 Grandchildren, Sharon Hutchinson, Paige Cook, Lee J. Grisham, Micah Fogerty, Ashley Grisham, Paul Grisham, Bill Walter, Tommy Walter, Jill Bennett, Chrissy Curtis, Margaret Shaner and Kody Grisham; and 19 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Leland Jackson Grisham; two grandsons, Jason Grisham and Craig Grisham; her parents; a sister, Lois Craig; and two brothers, Maurice Craig and Buford Craig.
