John D. Evans, 51, formerly of Ripley, died June 15, 2009, at Sanctuary Hospice House in Tupelo. He was born June 18, 1957, in Ripley to Verlena Evans Hardin and the late Ellis Buger.
Services were at Moses Chapel in Ripley. Burial was in Boyd’s Cemetery in Ripley. Serenity Funeral Home of New Albany was in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors included his mother, Verlena Hardin of New Albany; his siblings, William Mose Jr. of Racine, Wis., Casey Cox, Frankie Lee Cox and Charles (Jimmeal) Cox, all of Memphis, Elick Cox of Tallahassee, Fla., Stone Cox of Corinth, Eric Cox, James Cox and Joe Cox, all of Ripley, Angie Bardina Cox of Tupelo and Lena Mae (Larry) Spight of New Albany.
