Eura Mae Poole, 86, died May 4, 2009, at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo. She was born Dec. 2, 1922, to Ike Cheatwood and Annie Windham Cheatwood. She was a member of Whittentown Baptist Church. She was retired from Community Action in Ripley and had worked at Tippah County Hospital as a nurses aide.
Services were at Ripley Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Shady Grove Cemetery.
Survivors included three daughters, Leona Bridges and Betty Burks (Dwight) of Ripley, and Irene Jeter (Denver) of Hattiesburg; two sisters, Maxine Quinn of Ripley and Amy Barham (Jarvis)of Decatur; one brother, Ellis Cheatwood (Lucille) of Potts Camp; six grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Ross W. Poole; her parents; one daughter, Mary Nell Strickland; one sister, Louise Booker; three brothers, John Cheatwood, Robert Cheatwood and Lee Cheatwood; and two grandchildren, Billy Ross Bridges and David Keith Jeter.
