Services for Charlie M. Mathis, a 71-year-old former barber at Fulton Barber Shop, were held the week of 7/15/65 at Shiloh Methodist Church in Tippah County. Burial was in the church cemetery with McBride Funeral Home in charge. Mr. Mathis died in Tippah County Hospital of a heart attack. Mr. Mathis barbered in Fulton about five years. He left Fulton about two and a half years previous. A native of Tippah County, he was a son of the late Watt Mathis and Mrs. Mollie Rogers Mathis. He was married to the former Miss Velma Hardin. He was a member of the Pentecostal Church.
Survivors included his wife; a son, Gilbert of Corinth; two daughters, Mrs. Juanita Guenther and Mrs. Ruth Egner of Ripley; two sisters, Mrs. Della Timmons of Corinth and Mrs. Ada Brock of Ripley.
