Edith Jane Beavers Bennett, 75, died March 9, 2009, at her home in Ripley. She was a homemaker and a charter member of Unity Baptist Church, where she was the church clerk for 35 years.
Services were at Unity Baptist Church in Ripley with burial in the church cemetery. McBride Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors included her husband of 57 years, Doyle Bennett of Ripley; two daughters, Brenda Grant (Mack) and Betty Cook (Kenny), both of Ripley; two sons, Jerry Bennett (Doris) of Ripley and Eddie Bennett (fiancˇe, Pam) of Dumas; one sister, Helen Mercer (Charlie) of Ripley; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jimmy and Fannie Moore Beavers, and a brother, Larry beavers.
