Searching for info/descendants of Gibson ancestors for collaboration on the ancestors of Rhoda M. Gibson (b. 1818 in KY, d. 1901 in MS), buried in the Fulmer cemetery in Lafayette Co near Oxford. What did the M stand for - a surname? Rhoda's father was George Gibson b. bet 1790-1800 in NC. He married Elizabeth B. (LNU) and d. bef 1835 (source: inventory sale dated 1835 in Henry Co, TN.) His children: Nancy Gibson m. Burrell Kirkland, Mary Gibson m. Harper Kirkland, Rhoda Gibson m. Moses Venable, Joseph Gibson m. Mary Nanney, Elizabeth Gibson m. Thomas Hudgins, Susan Gibson m. Sterling Pinkston, Sarah Gibson m. William Granger, Archibald Gibson m. Frances Mourning Crissenberry. Moses and family moved to Tate Co, MS, but Archibald Gibson remained in TN and once visited my gr grandmother Grabilla Venable Bedenbaugh in Lafayette Co, MS.
