Senatobia - SALLY LOU HARLAN DURR, 55, died of ovarian cancer Thursday, May 3, 2007 at her home. Sally was born June 6, 1951 in Greenwood, MS and was an honor graduate of Greenwood High School. She graduated cum laude from Millsaps College in 1972, with a Bachelor's degree in Biology, where she was a member of Phi Mu Fraternity. She married Leonard L. Durr May 27, 1972. They moved to Senatobia and have remained in North Mississippi. She attended Baptist Hospital School of Medical Technology.Her first employment was at North Panola Hospital. She spent 12 years as manager of the laboratory of the former Senatobia Hospital. In 1988, Sally transferred to Methodist University Hospital, where she worked for 12 years in the Blood Bank. For the past eight years, she served as Point of Care Coordinator for Methodist Healthcare System. She has been a faithful member of First United Methodist Church. She has served in all aspects of the music program and has taught Sunday School on several levels. Survivors include husband, Len; two daughters, Sara Helen Ware and husband, Chris of Batesville, and Sharon of Ridgeland and Senatobia; three grandchildren, Blaine, Bailey, and Brock Ware. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Sara Harlan, and a daughter, Alice Virginia Durr. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Friday, May 4, and from1-1:45 p.m. Saturday, May 5, both at Pate-Jones Funeral Home. Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 5 at First United Methodist Church in Senatobia, with burial following in Senatobia Memorial Cemetery.
