I am searching for information on Peter Grubbs and descendants of Simpson Co., MS.
Peter Grubbs was born August 21st., 1819 in East Feliciana Parish, LA. the son of Gilbert and Elizabeth Sandifer Grubbs
who located to Pike (now Walthall)Co., MS. in 1820 on Union Creek. Peter and wife, Mary Ann "Maning"____? Grubbs came to Simpson Co., MS. before 1850 and were listed in the 1850 and 1860 Census. I do not know anything after the 1860 Census.

Peter Grubbs b. 1819 LA.
Mary Ann "Maning" b. 1825 MS.
1.) Mary M. b. 1840 MS.
2.) Caroline b. 1844 MS.
3.) Catherine b. 1847 MS.
4.) Sarah A. b. 1849 MS.
5.) John b. 1857 MS.
6.) Francis b. 1857 MS.
7.) Emily C. b. 1859 MS.

I found Peter Grubbs listed in a Boutwell Bible with his birth date and parents names. Why he is listed in the bible
is unknown. It may suggest Peter was married into the family. What is known about the bible. The second husband of Elizabeth Thornhill was Also Boutwell of Pike Co. MS.
Elizabeth had a daughter, Polly A. Thornhill b. 1825.
In the 1850 Census for Pike Co., MS "Polly" is listed in the household of Also Boutwell. Mary Ann b.1825 the wife of Peter Grubbs listed in his household. I believe Polly & Mary Ann to be the same person.
