Hi, I'm pretty sure I am a descendant of J.L. Hardy (1846-1909). I'm certain I'm a descendant of a John Hardy who based on the timing, would have most likely been J.L. Hardy's son (possibly nephew). I have a photo of John Hardy, who, if he is in fact J.L. Hardy's son was born in 1875. I'm basing this birth date on a list of J.L. Hardy's children, one of which was named John. I know John Hardy was my great great grandfather who died at 27, leaving behing an unborn son (my great grandfather). If this is correct then here's the lineage. John Lycurgus Hardy 1846 (great great great grandfather) John ? Hardy 1875(great great grandfather) Cullen Lycurgus Hardy 1902 or '03 (great grandfather) James Cullen Hardy 1927 (grandfather) James Earl Hardy 1953 (father) James Tyler Hardy 1980 (me) James Cullen Hardy II 2008 (my 8 week old son) John Hardy 1875 had 3 older sisters; Mary, Nora, Ada 2 younger brothers; Thomas and Author I also have an article that gives a civil war account of a father and son duo who might have been the 1846 J.L. Hardy's brother and father, or cousin and uncle. Both of their names were John C. Hardy. The article can be found at http://theusgenweb.org/ms/scott/townsend.htm I'm in the process of talking to my grandfather's brother, Louis Hardy to get more info, and I plan to visit two cemetaries in Forkville soon. Any info you have would be greatly appreciated, and I'd be happy to share with you anything I have that might be of help. Once I've reached a point where I can confirm my information, I'll create a Hardy family website. Thanks, Ty Hardy Notify Administrator about this message?
