Matilda A. E. Carr was the second child and eldest daughter of Jacob Carr and Mary Megee. She was born about 1834 in Mississippi. She was first married to Charles Chalmers Broadfoot in Rankin County on May 6, 1851. He was a son of William and Elizabeth Jane Broadfoot. He was born 1 June 1818 in Fayetteville, N.C. and died in Smith County Mississippi in 1853. Matilda and Charles had one son named Willie who died as a infant and was buried in the Lodebar Cemetery in Rankin County Mississippi.

Mitilda's second husband was Seth L. Barrow. They were married 13 September 1854 in Rankin County Mississippi.
Seth L. Barrow was born about 1811-12 either in N.C. or Tn.
He was a son of William Barrow and Lydia Barber. Seth L. Barrow had previously been married to Sarah Elizabeth Barrow in Hinds County Mississippi February 6, 1836. Sarah apparently died before 1854. Seth L. Barrow died in Rankin County Mississippi June 21, 1858 and was buried in the Lodebar Cemetery. Matilda and Seth Barrow had two known children, Lee Carr Barrow, born about 1855 and Sallie Barrow born about 1857. These two children along with their mother, M. A. E. (Matilida) Barrow were enumerated in the 1860 census of Rankin County Mississippi in the household of William Barrow, brother of Matilda.

Matilda's third husband was John W. Finucane (sp ?) who she married October 25, 1860 in Rankin County. John was born about 1834 in Ireland. Apparently Matilda and John had no children togather. John and his brother-in-Law, William Carr, were soldiers in Company "G", 28th Regiment, Mississippi Cavalry, CSA. It is believed that John and William were killed or died while in service.

Matilda's father moved his family to Smith County Mississippi where he died in 1868 and is buried in the Carr Methodist Church Cemetery in Smith County.

Matilda has not been located after her marriage to John Finnucane in October of 1860.

Matilda's son, Lee Carr Barrow, shows up in Bosque County Texas in 1880 where he marrys Mary Ann Dicus and raises a family. He left home sometimes after 1901 but before 1910 reportedly to reurn to Mississippi to check into the Barrow estate. He disappeared on this trip and was never heard from again. No record has been found concerning his sister, Sallie Barrow who was list in the 1860 census.

Did Matilda remarry after Finnucane? When and where did she die? Where was she and her son L.C. Barrow when the 1870 census was taken? Any help would be appreciated.
