Looking for information on the family of William R. (b. Abt. 1790 in NC, d. ) and Jane (b. Abt. 1798 in NC) Bennett who resided in Madison County, MS in the 1850 Census. Their confirmed children (listed in the 1850 Census) are James A. Bennett (b. Abt. 1833 in NC), Martha J. Bennett (b. Abt. 1834 in NC), and Thomas (b. Abt. 1836 in NC). I believe that there were at least 3 other children who are: John Taylor Bennett (b. Abt. 1814 in NC, d. 15 Nov 1882 in Frierson, De Soto, Louisiana), Griffin Bennett (b. 10 Dec 1822 in NC, d. 10 Mar 1861 in Rankin County, MS and buried in the Brandon Cemetery), and Sarah A. Bennett (b. Abt. 1826 in NC, d. Bet. 1880 – 1900 in probably Rankin County, MS). Griffin was in De Soto Parish, LA in the 1860 Census but moved back to Rankin County, MS where his sister was living shortly before his death and he made a will there. Sarah A. Bennett married Gideon H. Daniel (1850 Madison County, MS Census) or Daniels (1860 Rankin County, MS Census and Griffin’s Will) depending on which Census or document you believe. Gideon died 10 May 1862 in Rankin County, MS and Sarah then married Andrew Harper in Rankin County, MS. Any information on these people or that could prove or disprove that all these children belong to these parents would be appreciated. I have additional information to share. Any help would be appreciated. Feel free to contact me directly at LeightonTu@verizon.net if you wish.
