Dorothy Mae Stricklen Bishop Harris, 76, died Aug. 31, 2009, at her home. She was born Jan. 16, 1933, in Prentiss County to Jefferson Lee Stricklen and Roxie Ware Stricklen. She was a member of Hills Chapel Baptist Church. She worked many years at Brown Shoe Company and Prentiss Manufacturing before retirement. She enjoyed fishing, watching game shows, and spending time with her family.
Services were at the Booneville Funeral Home Chapel, with burial in the Old Friendship Cemetery in New Site.
Survivors included five children, Jerry Bishop (Janie) and Ray Bishop (Debbie), all of New Site, Janice Lawrence (David) of Tupelo, Barbara Burcham (Virgil) of the New Candler community and Brenda Stacy (Harold) of New Site; a brother, J. Lee Stricklen (Mary Elizabeth) of New Site; three sisters, Ann Cameron (Cecil) of Bristol, Wis., Shirley Kennedy (Jackie) of Booneville and Mandy Loomis (Archie) of Trempealeau, Wis.; 15 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dexter Harris; her parents; three sisters, Helen Brown, Alice Ware and Etna Swader; and a stepson, Jerry Harris.
