Thanks for your offer. The family I am researching is the family of George Henry Ramsey sometimes spelled Ramsay. His wife was a sister to Horatio Martine Wingo and Asa R. Wingo. The info I have is that George Henry Ramsey was taking his children to Mississippi to live with the Wingos after the death of his wife. When George and the children arrived in Johnston Station, there was some type of fever in the camp from which George and his granddaughter died. I am trying to confirm that this story is true. The date I have for George's death is August 31, 1862. I don't know the first name of his granddaughter but she was the daughter of Martha Frances Ramsey and John Fox. I will be in Mississippi in July so I am wanting to know what records are available for researching this family and where those records are currently located. Thanks for your help.
