Sardis - Myrtis Tidwell Dees, 94, died April 18, 2009, at her residence.
Services were at the Sardis United Methodist Church.Burial was in Rose Hill Cemetery. Ray-Nowell Funeral Home had charge.
Dees, born July 16, 1914, to the late William Alexander Tidwell and Pearl Vick Tidwell, in the Mount Olivet Comminty was a charter member of the Sardis Woman’s Club, member of the Heflin House Museum and the Panola Playhouse. She was a member of the American Red Cross, the local PTA and the Sardis Methodist Church where she taught Sunday School for over 50 years. She served several years as the church treasurer.
She was preceded in death by her husband, H.E. Dees.
Survivors included one son, William Lee Dees of Sardis and her sister-in-law, Louvene Linder of the Mount Olivet Community.
