Need help in finding additional info on one James MORGAN who was in Oktibbeha Co., MS in 1844 per last letter in his pension file. He may have moved there with another relative, one James H. Morgan.
In 1842, James H. Morgan had signed as a witness for old James Morgan in McNairy Co., TN. The family had moved there from Tishomingo Co., MS. Other records indicate this Morgan family had moved to Tishomingo as early as 1837-38. They lived there at least 3-4 years and are shown on the 1840 Tishomingo Co., MS federal census.
This Morgan family had moved to Tishomingo Co. from AL and I have documents showing they were in GA prior to that. Old James Morgan was born in VA and enlisted in Rev. War in SC.
I am trying to find any info on this Morgan family in Oktibbeha Co. around 1843 - 44. If anyone has access to any records for that time period I would like to hear if there are any Morgan names provided on any document that may help me find out what happened to this James MORGAN.
Any help would be very much appreciated.
