The John Bickerstaff in Monroe Co., MS in 1826 was the father of the Johnson Bickerstaff that was mention in 1828. This John Bickerstaff was a brother to Johnson Bickerstaff, Sr.(remove the John after Johnson's name, or it'll drive you nuts trying to keep them separated).

During the 1830 census, John Bickerstaff and his son Johnson Bickerstaff born in Maury Co., TN were listed in Monroe Co., MS.

Johnson Bickerstaff, Sr., was living in Fayette Co., AL next to his dau. Mary.

John L. and Johnson Bickerstaff, Jr. were living in Walker Co., AL.

Mitchell Bickerstaff was living in Fayette Co., AL in 1834 when he applied for land in Walker Co., AL. From Monroe Co., MS Court records on John L. Bickerstaff, Mitchell Bickerstaff died very near the same time as John L., in Monroe Co., MS.

I also believe it was John Bickerstaff's sons Henry and Robert that killed a man in Monroe Co., MS. If I remember right, this was in the 1820's.
