James D. Sprayberry, Sr., of Nettleton, retired Frisco Railroad employee, died at 3 a.m. May 6, 1964 in Gilmore Memorial Hospital at Amory, where he had been a patient a week. He was 66. Services were held May 7 in Liberty Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery. Lann Memorial Funeral Home was in charge. He had resided in Nettleton most of his life.
Survivors included his widow, Mrs. Dessie Sprayberry; three sons, James D. Sprayberry, Jr., of Dallas, Texas, Houston D. Sprayberry of Enid, Okla., and C. Leon Sprayberry of the Army, stationed in Korea; a daughter, Miss Arvilla Sprayberry of Houston, Texas; two sisters, Mrs. Lila Shackleford of Shannon, and Mrs. Maggie Heavner of Saltillo; a brother, Pat Sprayberry of Biloxi; and two grandchildren.
