Henry Grady Shelton, 73, died Dec. 2, 1973 at his home in Amory after an extended illness. A native of Pickens County, Ala., his family later moved to Mississippi. He lived in Fulton a short time and then moved to Smithville. He attended school in Smithville. Mr. Shelton married Annie Bell Beasley in 1941. He had lived in Amory since 1945. Mr. Shelton was retired in 1965 after being employed as a brick mason and a contractor. He was a member of First Methodist Church and a Mason. Services were Dec. 5 from Pickle Funeral Home Chapel. Burial was in Smithville Cemetery.
In addition to his wife, other survivors included his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Phillip Roy Shelton of Amory; three sons, Wayne and Halbert Shelton, both of Amory and Rapheal Shelton of Fayetteville, N.C.; two daughters, Mrs. Carolyn Ouellette of Columbus and Mrs. Brenda Culver of Amory; one brother, Robert Shelton of Smithville; three sisters, Mrs. Maggie Hale of Amory, Mrs. Luther Snow of Raymonville, Texas and Mrs. Edward Gorkowski of San Antonio, Texas; nine grandchildren.
