Cooper Hodges Cantrell, 75, of the Quincy Community of Monroe County, died July 15, 1973 at his home after an apparent heart attack. He was a native of the Egypt Community in Monroe County and grew up in the Quincy Community where he lived all his life. He married Theola Wiygul in 1923. He served three terms as supervisor of the Second District in Monroe County. He also served one year as Sheriff of Monroe County. He was a farmer and landowner. He was a member of the Quincy Methodist Church. Services were July 17 from Pickle Funeral Home Chapel with burlal in the Durrett Cemetery.

Survivors included his wife; one son, Jack C. Cantrell of Quincy; two brothers, Jim R. Cantrell of Aberdeen and Elton McGraw of Memphis; one sister, Mrs. Mary Sue Milage of Detroit, Mich.; two grandchildren.
