ABERDEEN – Rachel Ann Halbert McKellar Hines, 86, died Monday, Jan. 10, 2011, at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo. She was born Dec. 25, 1924, to L.A. “Pete” Halbert and Sadie Vaughn Halbert in Mayhew. She lived most of her life in Aberdeen. She was a homemaker, a seamstress and a member of Aberdeen First Baptist Church. She was an avid bridge player.
Services were Jan. 14 in the Tisdale-Lann Memorial Chapel in Aberdeen with burial in Oddfellows Rest Cemetery.
Survivors included two sons, Pete McKellar and wife, Mari Ann, of Estes Park, Colo., and Mike McKellar and wife, Judie, of Collierville, Tenn.; two sisters, Marion “Biddy” Kirkpatrick of Aberdeen and Betty Jean Harrington of Greenwood; six grandchildren, Ashely McKellar Owens (Jason), Rachel McKellar Haynes, Michelle Garrett (Bryan), Michael McKellar, Christopher McKellar and Christian McKellar; five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Nelson Dudley “Toby” McKellar.
