Jerry, Lou Ella Sykes was my grandmother's sister. My grandmother was Robbie Lola Sykes, daughter of Frances Ophelia Smith and James R. Sykes. My distant cousin, Larry Sykes and I are both anxious to find the grave of A.D. Sykes. He wants it for SCV and I want to see that he and his wife, Caroline, have a marker. I believe that we have narrowed to Seely Cemetery and Larry believes strongly that it could be Cedar Grove. A.D. and his wife Caroline owned land close to Cedar Grove. One of A.D.'s sons are buried in each cemetery---James in Seely, Thomas Sykes in Cedar Grove and A.A. in Howell Cemetery. Mamie House had a record at one time of ALL the burials in Seely, but it has been lost since her death. I have never been able to find a marriage record for A.D. and Caroline ?.
