I am most interested in connecting my Henry of Tishomingo County to John L, and his father Johnson "John" Bickerstaff, Sr. I have been told that Henry and John L. were brothers, but have found no evidence of that. Henry, according to census records, was born in GA about 1800, John L. in GA about 1789. Henry married Cynthia Ramsey in St. Clair County, AL July 20, 1820 and John L. married Celia Ann Hampton in that county on May 3, 1819. I have been told that Johnson and John L. moved to Monroe County and have found evidence that Johnson was there by 1828 when he was witness to 3 notes by Stephen Daggett. A deed from Gabriel Ragsdale is registered to John in 1826. Since he is reported to have used both names, I wonder if they are the same person or if one is John L.

I find Henry in Jackson County, AL in the 1830 census and in Tishomingo County, MS by 1837.

I am sumising that the Henry in Monroe County, MS is an uncle, brother to Jackson. I have seen other references to Jackson in NC, but cannot find any information on names of his children. Do you have any help for me?
