I have vacillated on this subject for a long time. While a stream of obits may seem to clutter up the place and slow down searching for specific surnames, etc., I find the obits interesting and informative for the most part. I especially like the obits dug up from the "archives" of 20, 30 or 40 years ago. Is obit info available at other locations? Sure, but I kinda like one-stop shopping.

I check this forum at least once a day. Since this thread was posted, I have seen a single dit of information posted on here, so what did we gain from discouraging obits? Obituaries are better than nothing at all.

Just another opinion.
