Margaret Tharessa Whitaker Pennington, 87, died Sept. 6, 2009, at Gilmore Memorial Hospital in Amory. She was born Sept. 21, 1921, to Tilman Whitaker and Lena Williams Whitaker in Monroe County. She was a lifelong resident of Monroe County and a member of Bartahatchie Baptist Church. She was a retired seamstress for Glen Manufacturing.
Services were at the Tisdale-Lann Memorial Chapel in Aberdeen with burial in Pleasant Ridge Cemetery.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harwood Pennington, and her parents.
