James Roland Ausborn, 80, died July 22, 2009, at the Veterans Hospital in Memphis. He was born Oct. 31, 1928, in Aberdeen to Ledrew Ausborn and Agnes Smitherman Ausborn. A lifelong resident of Aberdeen, he was a retired cattleman and soybean farmer. He was a veteran of the Korean War and served in the Army Reserves and Army transportation. He was a Baptist.
Graveside services were held at Oddfellows Rest Cemetery with Tisdale-Lann Memorial Funeral Home in Aberdeen in charge of the arrangements.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 56 years, Patricia Murff Ausborn; a daughter, Patricia “Patti” Ausborn; a sister, Sara King; a brother, George Ausborn; and a great-grandchild, William Woodson Bales.
