I'm not sure of Sylla's eight children. This is what I gathered from several different researches. George Wesley Maxey had four wives. The first was Mary "Molly" A Pallentine Lindsey who he married 1/15/1878. They had five children Robert Benjamin, James Calloway, Martha Pallentina, Effie Blanche Lindsey, and Walter. After her death in 1893 he married Mattie M Reynolds. I don't know if she died shortly thereafter or what. He married Samantha E Duncan 11/1896. They had at least six children Mary Jane, Wilford, William Henry, Minnie, Alvin, and Melvin. After her death in 1907 he married Sylla Agnes Jourdan. They had Cleveland Wesley, Leaborn Archie, and Grover Lindon.
Sylla was the daughter of William Madison Jourdan 1855-1912. William was the son of Sarah Ann Gray who married W E Wright son of Robert Richard Wright.

Mary Anna Riggan might be able to help you since she is in this Wright line.
