I believe my Briggs family is connected to Howell Briggs. Henry was grandfather of Howell, Howell was son of Charles[Henry may have been also known as John or John Henry Briggs] of Prince George [Dinwiddie] Co VA. My family likely descends from Henry, Samuel, William Sr., William Jr. I think William Jr. moved to Laurens Co. SC where he acquired land in 1765. Children may have been John, James and Elkanna Eland Briggs [my ancestor]. William's wife, Elizabeth, sold land, in 1810, that had been acquired by William in 1765. My Elkanna Briggs married Elizabeth Harris thought to be dau of William Harris of Laurens Co. SC and moved to Georgia and then Alabama where he died in Butler Co. in 1855. Hope this helps. Our Elkanna Briggs has DNA proof to descend from Clement Briggs of Mass.
