My curiousity got the best of me and this afternoon while I had a few spare minutes at MDAH, I pulled the roll of microfilm with Capt. Hoskins - Brookhaven Light Art'y service records.(NARA microcopy 269, Roll 96, Washington 1959; MDAH #3220) The microfilm shows pretty much what Fold3 does. This is a very short roll of microfilm.

Capt. Holle's (beginning with names with H - other surnames earlier in the alphabet are on another roll of film) Capt. Hoskins and Capt Kittrell's units are on this roll too. There may be some mixing of the units on this roll, but not sure. The first name found for Hoskins unit is "Putnam." Mr. Maxwell is not there, but he is found in the 4-vol. compilation of Mississippi Confederate servicemen:
"For Dixie land, I'll take my stand : a muster listing of all known Mississippi Confederate soldiers, sailors, and marines" by Howell, H. Grady .Chickasaw Bayou Press (Madison, Miss.)
I guess we're lucky to have the records that are available.
