1860 Census in Banquete, Nueces, TX

Joined Wallers Texas Cav abt. 1862

Was in battle of Bonnie Carrie, La Sept 8,'62

Then nothing else heard about war service ... next time he appears is that he died in Panola County MS in 1863. He should have still been in the war. I want to know what happend to him. Was he wounded, got sick, killed in action or what?
