Hi Dale, Did a quick lookup on Dr. & Josephine Kilpatrick in Sunflower,1800-1930, found a few Kilpatrick's but none were Dr's & none had a wife Josephine.
Some info on the net:
Sunflower Plantation
First developed by Tatlor & Crate of Buffalo, NY in 1888, the area was compossed of 10,000 acres of deeply wooded land.
In 1937 the goverment bought the land and divided it into 40 acre tracts which were rented out. Many sharecroppers paid for the 40 acre tracts and today none of the land is owned by the goverment.
There was a book published about this, named: When Sweat Turns to Tears" by Mozelle Patridge Chason. Look at GenForum, Sunflower county, MS, Post # 41 with this info, it's an old one from 2001. She just might have the same email address. Also the book is for sale at Amazon.com, new copy $100.00, used copy $ 73.99.
Good Luck to you!
