Heinrich Valentin Riemenschneider, dob 1820, Hesse, Germany, came to Texas in 1853 on the ship Suwa, landed in Galveston and traveled to Old Indianola and across land to Lavaca County, settled in Hallettsville. Married Johanna Bunte, also on same ship in 1853, her family went from Galveston to Gonzales, Texas and Johanna and Heinrich were married in Gonzales County. Had three Children, Augusta, dob 1855, Mary, dob 1859 and my husbands grandfather Henry V., dob 1862. They lived in Hallettsville and Heinrich Valentin was a Cabinet/Furniture Maker. Henry V.'s first wife was Rose Moreland, his second wife was my husband's grandmother, Emma Heinsohn. Henry V.owned and operated mercantiles and grocery stores in Hallettsville, Shiner, and Yoakum, Texas. We have been trying to trace Heinrich Valentin back to Germany. I wonder if he could be Martha's brother or cousin? They were four years apart in age. ( Victor Edgar was one of the sons of my husband's grandfather, Henry V. and first wife Rose.)
