Hi Kathleen,
Again, thank you for all the wonderful help!
I don't have access to Ancestry anymore but I do have access to Heritage Quest. The problem with Heritage though is that it doesn't have a soundex so unless you get the names just right or the county spelled correctly, you won't find what you're looking for. I know what you mean about trusting the dates on the census records. That goes for the spelling of the counties too. One year they're listed spelled one way and the next they're listed spelled another. I was looking for something in Vermilion Co., Ill. the other day and found the census under Vermillion Co., Ill.
I've also found when had Ancestry that sometimes Heritage would have a census Ancestry didn't and vice versa. I thought that was kind of strange.
Anyway, I appreciate your looking up Brancy Thomas for me. Now I can eliminate her from my search.
Also, I will check into the Mississippi Archives, the Social Security Administration and www.findagrave.com.
I have access to pilot.familysearch.org but I didn't think they had the time frame I needed for Mississippi. I will check again.
You've been a tremendous help Kathleen and its a blessing to know people like you.
Sincerely,
Linda
