I’ve been on a decade long quest of linking my family to the Wise Family tree. We do not know who our grandfather Benjamin Franklin Ransom Wise was or any family information on him.
Facts:
1. Benjamin Franklin Ransome (or Ransom) Wise, father of Troy Arvall (1922-2003), Vada (1918-2006), and Lee L. (1920-1993)
2. Born abt 1870 Louisiana (1920 census, Dad and Uncle Lee’s birth cert)
3. 1912 Marriage Record (photo of record’s book entry) to Katie Mae White (born 1901, San Angelo, Tom Green, TX; d 1983, Whitney, Hill, TX)
4. Parents both from Mississippi (1920 census - the only census with 100% positive ID)
5. No death certificate on him was filed (Oklahoma – Indian Territory), no known grave marker.
6. 1923 Divorce Record (photo of courthouse doc)
5 Oct 1925 was the presumed date of death and thought to be buried in a small family cemetery called Crowder Springs Cemetery, OK (no records of him there).
I'm looking for anyone who has information leading to the identification of this man. Any family records showing any Wise family from Mississippi and living in Louisiana around 1870 that may have had a child by the name of Ransome Wise or any variation thereof?
