P.C. Shinn 1880 Mississippi

I'm looking for information on P.C. Shinn, whose given name may have been Priscilla or perhaps Peace (P.C.?). I don't know her birth year nor who her parents were. She married my great-grandfather, John William Cooper Jr, in December 1873 in Prentiss Co., Mississippi. At the time of their marriage he was about 20 years old. I have a copy of their marriage bond. Does anyone have information about P.C.? And, does anyone know what a marriage bond was - was it the same as modern marriage certificates? etc.?
The 1880 census for Prentiss Co., Mississippi shows John to be a widower. I know they had a daughter born in March 1880 so P.C. must have died in childbirth or shortly after. The 1880 census also shows this baby daughter with an aunt. Any help/direction will be greatly appreciated
