JOHN D. WOOTEN
I'm trying to make contact with anyone who can assist me in identifying the family of a John D. Wooten (born around 1858) who married a Mary Elizabeth Biggers on October 6, 1881 in Yell County, Arkansas. The following marriages information comes from the Direct Marriage Index Records, Danville District, Yell County, Arkansas:
Wooten, J.T., age 53 married Lula Furr, age 31, July 1, 1907
Wooten, John D., age 23, married M.E. Biggers, age 19, October 6,1881
Wooten, John Earle, age 27, married Alice Minnie West, age 25, June 7,1900
Wooten, William L., age 20, married Mattie Wilson, age 18, December 3, 1884
Wooten, Wm., age 54, married Mrs. Martha Johnson, age 40, September 4, 1879
Wooten, W.D., age 27, married Tarrissa E. Morris, age 19, September 5, 1880
John D. and Mary Elizabeth Biggers Wooten were my great-grandparents; and parents of my grandmother, Hallia Ann Wooten Priddy.
I'm betting some of the above Wooten's were related. Clearly at one time the Wooten family was fairly well represented in Yell County, Arkansas. I've also posted on the Wooten and Arkansas Genealogy sites, so I'm hoping another descendent will see this posting and respond and help me develop this line of my family genealogy.
So far I've had no luck, but it is also possible this John D. Wooten may have been originally from Mississippi before going to western Arkansas.
Any leads will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance,
John Priddy
