Sherlene,
I see you already have the 1870 and 1880 census listings for this family:
1870 Census
Tishomingo County, MS
pg 288, family #1/1
Wright, Nancy, age 46, born NC
-, James M., 17, MS
-, Martha J., 14, MS
-, Francis, 10, female, MS
-, Amanda, 7, MS
family #2/4, same page
Wright, Wm., 46, SC
-, Juda, 44, female, NC
-, Robert P., 19, MS
-, Tempy E., 17, female, MS
-, Nancy C., 15, MS
-, Welsey [sic] F., 13, male, MS
-, Wm. J., 11, MS
-, Mary F., 9, MS
-----------------------------------------------
1880 Census
Tishomingo County, MS
ED 198, pg 2b
Wright, Nancy, 56, born NC, father NC, mother NC
-, Amanda E., 17, daughter, MS TN NC
-, Wesley, 21, nephew, MS SC SC
By the above, it seems that this Wesley was probably the son of William and Juda Wright on the 1870 census. Then, Nancy's husband should have been a brother of William.
Doing a quick search on rootsweb.com, I see a Barram Wright who seems to be a possible match for Amanda's father. Here is the link:

By searching for "Barram Wright" there are several hits. Here's another one with a little on his service record indicating that he served in the 32nd MS Infantry:

There is a "B. Wright" who enlisted in Company H of the 32nd Mississippi Infantry. The following link shows a summary of his service record (just scroll down a bit):
http://www.rootsweb.com/~mscivilw/32mss-y.htmhttp://www.rootsweb.com/~mscivilw/32mss-y.htm
That website has a good bit on the 32nd.It shows that, at the time of Barram's death (July 15, 1862) his company was in Tennessee. They had been in Corinth a few months prior, so your family stories of that town are probably correct.
If you haven't already done so, you might check for a death certificate for Amanda as these typically show the names of the deceased's parents. It might confirm whether or not Barram/Barron Wright was her father.
Hope this helps and good luck with your search,
Scott
