Seeking information on Gage family MS to Rains Co TX in 1880. I have found the name soundex "Guice" in franklin, MS on the 1850 -1870 Census. 1860 lists I K and Catherine Guice as parents, Walter and Alonzo as sons. Does anyone know if there is a coneection?

Info on Alonzo Gage:
Alonzo Gage (b 1858 MS) and Mandy (Amanda?) Gilbert (b 1861 TX) were married 1878 and had 7-8 children. The first I found on a message board on Ancetry Mary Lorene Gage, she was the oldest. The other children include James O, Lilly M, Kate, Carry, John Allen, Joseph Wesley, and Charley.

Mary married a Tadlock. James married Daisy. Lilly married a Moore. Kate married Charled Daniels. John married Bertha. Joseph married Francis Raglin. Charley married Sarah Crocker and lived in Oklahoma.

I have't been able to trace the county Alonzo Gage was from in MS. I believe he was shown on the 1880 Census in Anderson Co, TX first and then moved to Rains. Alonzo and Mandy Gage died in the early 1900s.

If any of the information sounds familar, or if you have any questions, I would be glad to hear from you. Thanks
Stephanie
