Elsie Mae Joyner, 91, died Sept. 9, 2008, at the North Mississippi Medical Center. She was born Aug. 27, 1917, in Marshall County to Ed Christian and Josie Beesinger. She was a homemaker and a member of Barton First Baptist Church.
Services were at the Barton First Baptist Church with burial in the Magnolia Cemetery in Collierville. Holly Springs Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors included two sons, James Joyner (Pansy) of Nettleton and Travis Joyner of Byhalia; five daughters, Hazel Mardis and Annie Mae Warren (Thomas), both of Okolona, Betty Joyce Cooper of Tupelo, Stella Knighton of Laws Hill and Sue Leonard of Byhalia; 25 grandchildren, 47 great-grandchildren and 13 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Carroll Joyner.
