Ernest B. Jones, 91, died Sept. 28, 2007, at his home. He was a retired teacher for the Marshall County Public Schools for more than 40 years. He was a member of Mt. Zion Taska M.B. Church in Cayce. He was a church deacon and an ordained minister. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge and the Retired Teachers Association.
Services were at Mt. Zion Taska M.B. Church with burial in the church cemetery. J.F. Brittenum & Son Funeral Home of Holly Springs was in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors included five daughters, Rebecca Brown of Jackson, Lurline Walls and Annie Richmond, both of Red Banks, Delcenia Daniels and Earnestine Taylor, both of Holly Springs; four sons, Leroy Jones of Holly Springs, and Ernest B. Jones Jr., Clarence Jones and Arverne Jones, all of Red Banks; one brother, Benjamin Jones Jr. of Red Banks; two sisters-in-law, Willene Jones of Red Banks and Lettie B. Moore of Cayce; 22 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren, eight great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Luellar Todd Jones; his parents, Benjamin Jones Sr., and Lealer Leggett Jones; a sister, Florida Fields and a brother, Booker T. Jones Sr.
