Sam W. Silas Jr., 59, died June 30, 2009, at his residence. He was a native of Tupelo and resident of River Ridge, La., for the last 25 years. He enjoyed his neighbors, tennis, his cats and all the stray animals that adopted him.
There was no memorial service scheduled at this time.
Survivors included his beloved wife of 32 years, Judy Woody Silas; their “adopted” daughter Katie Buklad; three nieces, Amelia, Melanie and Stephanie; and three nephews, Joe, Christopher and Chad.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Sam W. Silas Sr. and Gena Vines Silas.
