James Wallis Butler, 52, died May 31, 2009, in Nashville, Tenn. He was a graduate of Tupelo High School and a member of the First Baptist Church of Baldwyn. He was a computer tech for Dixie Electric at Cooper Tire. He was an avid camper and flower gardener.
Services were at the First Baptist Church of Baldwyn with Waters Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors included his wife, Verna Butler of Baldwyn; a son, Andrew Butler of Chicago; his mother, Margaret Copeland Butler of Tupelo; a sister, Lynn Collier of Tupelo; a niece, Kacy Collier of Hernando; two sisters-in-law, Libby Poe of Gaston, S.C., and Eloise Marquette (Charlie) of Picayune; a number of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father, Howell Butler.
