Charlie Putt, 78, died May 31, 2009, at the North Mississippi Medical Center. He was born April 17, 1931, in Baldwyn to Edgar and Bessie Willis Putt. He served four years in the Navy and was stationed in Corpus Christi, Texas. He was the founder and previous owner of Quality Bedding Inc. of Tupelo. He loved to fish, spend time with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and he enjoyed gardening. He was a member of Northeast Church of Christ.
Services were at Lee Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with burial in the Garden of the Resurrection at Lee Memorial Park.
Survivors included one daughter, Linda Young (Steve) of Tupelo; one son, Larry Putt of Tupelo; one sister, Evelyn Cooper (Harliss) of St. Louis, Mo.; two grandchildren, Jennifer Pearson (Ryan) and Angela Owen; and three great-grandchildren, Carson Owen, Corben Owen and Gabrielle Pearson.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Bobbye Nell Putt; four brothers, Milton Putt, Robert Putt, Clifford Putt and Walter Putt.
