Clovis Victor “Red” Carnathan, 82, died May 17, 2009, in Germantown Methodist Hospital. He was a native of Lee County and a resident of Tupelo before moving to Tennessee a number of years ago. He was the owner and operator of Red’s Auto Service Station in Memphis for more than 40 years before his retirement. Devoted to his family and a Christian, he enjoyed fishing and music.
Services were at Peebles West Funeral Chapel in Oakland, Tenn. Burial was in Chambers Chapel Cemetery. Peebles Fayette County Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors included his wife, Maxine Carnathan; one daughter, Debbie Betz of Arlington, Tenn.; two sons, Eddie Carnathan of Hickory Withe, Tenn., and Vick Carnathan of Germantown, Tenn.; one sister, Billie Jean Canada of Ashland, Ky.; one brother, Armstrong J. Carnathan of Memphis; and eight
